Flash mob — 4 pm to 5 pm; Bonfire with traditional holy food — 5 pm onwards. There are more than a dozen shrines dedicated to Shiva in Kathmandu Durbar Square. Four of them are around the immediate vicinity of Kasthamandap — Bisheshwor, Gankuti, the stone Shiva temple and Maju Dega. To ensure continuity of the public’s attention on our tangible heritage around the iconic Kasthamandap, local organizations (Maru Twa Pucha, Kumari Club, Ganga Club, SamYubaa and the Campaign to Rebuild Kasthamandap) are jointly organizing this intangible socio-cultural and religious activity with special focus on the youth, as we strongly feel that the tangible has meaning only if intiangible activities revolve around it. Lead organizers are Suman Shrestha and Sara Byanjankar. Open to all. Please do join, and please spread the word.
